Hi, Judy, your story is inspiring. My brother had a stroke very similar to yours and his pons is affected by the stroke. Right now, he could only blinking his eyes, but he has a clear mind and memory. I will share your story with him to encourage hm to fight and have strong home.
Thanks

Hi Mary.
I learned about Judy Ackel from the website. She surely is a tough lady with a positive attitude. My mom was a stroke patient, too. I took care of her, too. My mom was able to walk but only 20 steps more or less. My mom was lucky to survive a massive stroke.
I learned about Judy from a Devin Demartino. I am a caregiver and I placed an ad on a website.
May God bless you and your work for Judy.

Judy,
I've been through your website and read about your journey. I am touched by your story.

I too suffered a stroke. One in the brain stem and one in the Thalamus. I was 53 when I had the strokes and I just celebrated my 3 year anniversary of survival.

By the time I arrived at the hospital, I was in a coma and paralized. They told my wife and Son that I was in a coma and would not survive the night. At about 4:30 a.m., I came out of the coma and a male nurse asked me if I was hungry and what I wanted. I said "Yes, a steak and a cup of coffee". He laughed and brought me jello and apple juice.

Well Judy, keep up the good fight. I know that recovery is tough and there are times that it's easy to get a little discouraged. However it helps me to recognize how lucky I am to be alive and how blessed I am with my family and friends.

Sincerely,
Bob Radford
