Waiting For Someone To Call

Lyrics

Today it dawned on me
These walls that were once my friends
Have turned on me
And brought me to my wit's end
I've chewed my fingers to the bone

Waiting for someone to call
I'm waiting for someone to call
I'm waiting for someone to call
Can't be anybody at all
Waiting for someone to call me home

I do appreciate
Thoughts absent of violence
But cannot tolerate
This deafening silence
I miss the part of me I can't control

And it seems I've lost my way
I just need someone to say
Help is on the way

Now the voice is gone
This cure has cost me a friend
That turned me on
Never thought that I would defend
The very thing I sought to kill

Miscellaneous Info

I think that the instrumental break in this song is one of my favorite parts of the entire CD. The horns sound just like I heard them in my head and Gene's guitar solo is just brilliant. Soupy's playing on this song is also top notch. Especially since he heard the song for the first time just days before the session.

Joe Ongie did some nifty editing to bring the horn part back in during the outro and by creating that abrupt ending.
