Lyrics
Caught me sleeping
The back porchstep
Still you smile
And everything's fine
Conversation
About nothing
You just sweep it under
Everything's fine
And it's going nowhere
Still it's gone too far
Going nowhere's who we are
Morning sunshine
Warms my face and
I smile right through you
I'm feeling so strange
I can't forget it
Your indiscretion
Can't pretend that
We haven't changed
Well, it took so long to understand
It's not what you had planned

Miscellaneous Info
I remember coming up with the chorus and the bridge for this song while I was helping Bob record some of his songs. I don't know how helpful it was to Bob to have me strumming major-7th chords and humming while he was trying to get things set up. Come to think of it, it was probably quite annoying. I'm sorry Bob!
I had originally planned for the solo to be a cello but there were some technical problems with the part Peter Miller recorded and not enough time to record another one. So, we went back to the M-Tron part I had on the demo and Joe mixed three voices together (cello, clarinet and mandolin) to make the weird sound we ended up with.
Joe did a good job of masking the sound, but you may still be able to tell that it was raining quite hard the day I recorded the acoustic guitars.
