Comments of David Wonschewski from the Bryter Layer radio show
on Kontrast Radio (Germany) - April 2005

German-to-English translation by David Wonchewski as:

"You're listening to Kontrastradio and you're listening to Bryter Layter, your Singer/Songwriter-LoFi- and Americana-Show. And you've also been listening to John Hoskinson. In contrast to Randy Kaplan - whom I introduced to you at the beginning of this show - John did NOT move away from Los Angeles: no, he just moved IN there! And since he's moved there his career is developing quite good. So, it seems it is not necessary to become folk singer No. 800,000 and stumble to New York like an idiot. With regard to his music John Hoskinson is more like Sons Of Maxwell than Randy Kaplan, because his music is not so much "folk" but rather a very fresh mixture of country-pop, with a wonderful wind blowing california-pop through your mind. Okay, so maybe that doesn't sound that weird and indie-like - but it is excellent nonetheless! My opinion: if you independent-lovers have the patience to leave our indie-sector for some seconds and lean over to a more pop-influenced-style...TRY John Hoskinson. That's what I AM SAYING so that YOU can say it very soon, too. I am giving you another proof of his great music: "I Belong To You" is the name of this wonderful song, it is on his new CD Misceleneaous Heathen, and I advise you to click through our record-reviews on this page. There you'll find more info about this record and there's even the chance to get some more acoustic impressions from this Album...here's John Hoskinson..."
