JOHN HOSKINSON "MISCELLANEOUS HEATHEN"

This took me a little by surprise. Killer hooks, knowing references and heartfelt sentiments – “I hope I die before you do/Cos I’m no good without you” on the jaunty opener. I hear John Lennon, Elvis Costello & Neil Finn on many tracks here. For example, the caustic ballad “Thanks For Nothing,” the folky “It’s Not My Place” and the dynamic “She Still Plays Around.” All good, in my book.
