Miscellaneous Info
This is one of the older songs on this album. I believe I wrote it back in
2002 and recorded a pretty good demo of it back then. It was a little slower
and didn't have the modulations at the end, but otherwise it's pretty similar.
The one thing that is definitely different is that the demo did not have
a string quartet on it. Joe Ongie knew of Stevie Blacke because Rami Jaffee
had recommended him for Michael Miller's latest project. I sent him some rough
mixes of a few tracks and some vague instructions and he spat out some lovely
arrangements and recorded all the parts and, voila, I had some string parts.
Technically, this song was tracked with Brian & Soupy but, due to Joe's insistance
that I modulate one more time at the end of the song I ended up re-recording almost
everything. And then, Joe thought it sounded better without hi-hat & cymbals. So,
he stuck a single mic in front of Roger's kit and had Roger play the simple kick-snare
pattern we ended up with. I've known Roger for a long time (he co-produced the first
Ferocious Daisies album and played drums on the second) so it's great to have him
on the album.
