Guitarist Eugene Edwards, who's still promoting last year's infectiously fun My Favorite Revolution, has just launched a free Monday-night residency at Taix Lounge in Echo Park. A devotee of Rockpile-style pop and high-energy performances, Edwards' musical credo seems to be in, out and over in three minutes or less, with sturdy melodies caught on memorable hooks left pulsing in the air. There are no guarantees, but don't be surprised if kindred spirits like 50 Cent Hair Cut, John Hoskinson and Walter Clevenger join the party. The residency's scheduled to run for two months, starting at 10 p.m. Mondays.
