Eugene Edwards has crafted an intelligent rock album that Ryan Adams wishes he could have come up with after 2003’s Rock ‘N Roll. My Favorite Revolution has a lot of the same energy of Elvis Costello’s first album; And the earnest lyricism of a young Jackson Browne.

The entire album has a very intimate vibe. Like if you were catching Edwards at a small local club on a weeknight. That vibe comes shining through on “Congratulations My Darling,” “At Your Place,” and the title track.

My Favorite Revolution is a fine debut by a singer/songwriter who can wear his heart on his sleeve and rock without letting the blood fuck up his fret work.
