Eugene Edwards
My Favorite Revolution
Flagship
Eugene Edwards has crafted an intelligent rock album that Ryan Adams wishes
he could have come up with after 2003’s Rock ‘N Roll. My Favorite Revolution
has a lot of the same energy of Elvis Costello’s first album; And
the earnest lyricism of a young Jackson Browne.
The entire album has a very intimate vibe. Like if you were catching Edwards
at a small local club on a weeknight. That vibe comes shining through on
“Congratulations My Darling,” “At Your Place,” and
the title track.
My Favorite Revolution is a fine debut by a
singer/songwriter who can wear his heart on his sleeve and rock without letting the
blood fuck up his fret work.
